The San Diego Performing Arts League sponsors 120 performing arts groups countywide and assists with advance and same-day ticket sales at half-price. Arts Tix North is open Mon.–Fri. 8:30 a.m.5 p.m. It is located in the offices of the San Diego North Convention and Visitors Bureau at 360 North Escondido Blvd. in Downtown Escondido next to the California Center.

Discount tickets are sold on the DAY OF THE SHOW, with special advance 1/2 price and full-price tickets going on sale prior to that. Online sales begin the evening before the show and matinee performances are usually sold one day prior to the performance. There are no refunds or exchanges on tickets purchased.

Babcock & Story, often called B&S, was named after The Del’s visionary founders, Elisha Babcock and H.L. Story, two mid-western businessmen who dreamed of building a resort hotel that would be the “talk of the Western world.”

Babcock & Story Bar is designed to take advantage of the spectacular seaside setting. The original 46-foot handcrafted mahogany bar, which was brought by ship from Philadelphia around Cape Horn in 1888, is the centerpiece for the bar. B&S Bar offers signature margaritas, blended tropical drinks, unique martinis, California premier wines, seasonal specialty coffee beverages and espressos. B&S Bar also features light fare, a sushi bar (Thursday – Sunday) and nightly musical entertainment.

B&S Bar is open daily from 11:00am until 1am and food is served from noon until 10:00pm.

Cafe Sevilla Restaurant is Home to the Flamenco, Tango and Salsa Dinner Shows

They have been voted best Spanish and Tapas restaurant in San Diego numerous times. Enjoy the spirited music and flavorful cuisine of Spain. Their popular Gypsy Fusion Dinner Show ($47.50) is featured Sat. 7 p.m.–9:30 p.m., and their Classical Flamenco Dinner Show ($39.50) is performed Fri. 7 p.m.– 9:30 p.m. in the downstairs nightclub. The price includes a three-course-meal and the cover charge for the nightclub.

For the hottest spot in the Gaslamp, ask for tables 7 through 10 next to the dance floor. After the show on Fri. and Sat. nights, the dance floor is transformed into a Latin Euro dance club, playing the latest and greatest dance music until 2 a.m. Upstairs in the restaurant they feature 15 traditional Spanish entrées and more than 40 fantastic hot and cold tapas. The seafood paella is excellent, as is the roasted pork tenderloin, which is served with spices in a red wine honey sauce.

Tuesday through Thursday and on Sunday features salsa dancing until 2. They also offer free salsa lessons at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday and at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday.
