The original Harry’s Bar and American Grill (31) opened in Venice in 1931. It was a hangout of Ernest Hemingway when he was writing Across the River and into the Trees. Famous people including kings, queens and royalty have dined at a Harry’s Bar and American Grill—and so should you! This one of San Diego’s most popular destination for business luncheons and “power lunches”.

The menu is similar to the one served in the original location and the decor is that of the 1930s as well. Served here is an excellent selection of delicious Italian gourmet meals as well as memorable aged steaks and delicious tapas. Behind the scene orchestrating these masterpieces and culinary delights is Chef Alejandro Vicens.

House favorites include their savory ravioli di spinachi all’ formaghio. It’s ravioli stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses and topped with tomatoes, eggplant, basil, garlic and Parmesan gratin cheese. Another winner is the grilled salmon. Everybody who has ever had a steak at Harry’s Amercan Grill can still remember how delicious it tasted.

They offer a crowd-pleasing 18-oz. aged USDA prime bone-in rib eye steak cooked to perfection. They also have a superb selection of nearly 30 wines served by the glass. You’ll love this place.
